The island of Carrick-a-Rede| Ltd Ed print | Polly Gribben

£35.00

If you haven't experienced a walk to Carrick-a-rede rope bridge I would highly recommend.  The coastline is some of the most stunning Co Antrim has to offer.  The sea is so clear with a vivid aquamarine azure blue in places against a backdrop of white limestone cliffs.  The rugged beauty of the cliffs around this section of the coast is beautiful and to come upon the rope bridge is a culmination of the beauty.

'I love the story of the island where the rope bridge was first constructed by salmon fishermen in 1755.  There is still a 400-year-old fisherman's cottage on the island which you can just make out in my painting.  The rope brdige, suspended 100m above the Atlantic ocean is not for the faint hearted!  I loved this view of Carrick-a-Rede island with its tenuous roped link to the mainland, drawing back to take in the expansive sparkling sea, home to all manner of wildlife.' - Polly Gribben.

A limited edition of 100, the print measures 8x8inch, mounted on 12x12inch mounting board.
