Gel Monoprinting Workshop with Jenny Bailie 26/03/2026

Join us in hosting our very first creative workshop in our newly refurbished upstairs space. 

The lovely Jenny Bailie will be taking us through the process of Gel monoprinting and will provide all the tools and materials needed for you to create your beautiful works of art.

We will provide a mount for you to pick your favourite monoprint to mount ready for display as pride of place in your home! Your designs will be ready to take home with you due to the quick drying nature.

Discover the addictive world of Gel Mono Printing! This workshop is designed specifically for absolute beginners—no "artistic talent" or previous experience required. 

What is Mono Printing? Mono printing refers to making a unique original print. Unlike mass-produced prints, the "mono" means every print is unique. It’s all about spontaneity, texture, and happy accidents.

What is Gel Printing? Instead of a traditional heavy metal press or a stone, we use a Gel Plate—a durable, squishy surface that looks and feels like a block of gelatin. It’s incredibly sensitive to detail, easy to use, and allows you to layer colors and textures in seconds.

What to Expect? During this relaxed, hands-on session, you will:

·                  Master the Basics: Learn how to apply paint and pull your first successful print.

·                  Explore Techniques: Experiment with stencils, botanicals, and everyday found objects to create stunning patterns.

·                  Layer & Play: Discover how to build "ghost prints" and rich, multi-layered compositions.

·                  Take Home a Masterpiece: At the end of the workshop, you’ll select your favourite creation to be mounted.

Everything is provided. Just bring your curiosity and prepare to get a little paint on your hands!
