Spring has well and truly sprung, meaning it’s finally time to enjoy some outdoor activities with friends and Family. So, here’s some great ideas to help you get back to the great outdoors!
Take a hike (in the Mournes)
Take a walk on the wild side. Why not venture up the Mourne Mountains or take a stroll around Silent valley Reservoir. Donard Park is a great place to start, park the car & follow the path up the mountain to walk the Granite trail. Or if you’re feeling ambitious you could climb Northern Ireland’s highest summit, Slieve Donard standing tall at 850m (2,789 ft). Though don’t forget to keep yourself warm and cosy. From colourful country socks to rainbow Fair Isle socks, Grange Craft Socks literally have your feet covered! They are a family run business based in Co. Cork Ireland and we are thrilled to be ‘stocking’ (pun intended) their handcrafted and unique knitted socks.
Picnics on the beach
Picnics are a lovely way to get outside and enjoy some Spring air! Murlough is our favourite spot for a day out. Even on a windy day, you can find a sheltered spot around the dunes. McNutt of Donegal have the perfect Picnic blanket. 100% Wool and 100% waterproof! Their handcrafted wool picnic blanket means there’s no longer a need to search for the perfect dry spot. This picnic blanket is soggy grass and wet sand proof! A must have for the outdoor dining season, unlike other waterproof lined rugs, the McNutt waterproof picnic blanket doesn’t compromise softness and still retains that signature luxurious feel!
Enjoy some vitamin Sea
If you’re brave enough to take the plunge… Newcastle harbour is a hot spot for local sea swimmers. Can’t say the same for the water temperature. But you can always warm up after with a hot cuppa, Piera Cirefice’s beautiful enamel mugs are lightweight and ideal for adventurers who are always on the go. We also have some beautiful Sea Inspired prints by Rhea Hanlon, to keep the spirit alive once you are dry and cosy back home.
No excuses now, time to get outside.
